Success story of Vijayendra Singh Rajput | Cleared SBI JA 2021

Read the success story of Vijayendra Singh Rajput, who overcame multiple challenges and failure but did not give up. He finally achieved success, clearing SBI Clerk and awaiting the final results of  RRB Clerk, RRB PO, and IDBI PO.

Here is his inspiring story:

My Name is Vijayendra Singh Rajput. I live in Jabalpur, MP. I completed my Mechanical Engineering from the University Institute Of Technology, RGPV.

His Preparation Journey:-

I completed my engineering in Mechanical Engineering in June 2019. At that time, I thought of starting preparation for banking exams as the banking exams take hardly six months to conclude the entire process. I also chose the bank exams because being an engineer, I thought I would easily secure a job by the end of 2019.

The first exam that I appeared for was SBI PO 2019, and I secured 35 marks in it, and the cutoff was 73 which was more than double my obtained marks. The second exam I gave was of SBI Clerk, and I secured 53 marks in it, the cutoff being 73. The two results right at the beginning were enough to tell me that the banking path was not going to be an easy one for me. So, I started my serious preparation in July 2019. Then in 2019, I cleared the prelims examination of LIC ADO, LIC Assistant, and IBPS Clerk. But I was not able to crack the Mains of any of these examinations. I analyzed my loopholes and worked hard in 2020. But, luck was something that was not going to be on my side so soon.

In 2020,  I missed out on SBI PO Pre by a margin of 0.5 and IBPS PO Pre by a margin of 3 marks. Although I cleared SBI Clerk 2020 Pre, in Mains, I was out by 7 marks. The best part of 2020 was that I scored 97 marks in RRB PO Mains which was 20 above the cutoff, and 128 marks in RRB CLERK Mains which was 8 marks above the cutoff. But, the worst part was that I scored only 40 in RRB PO Interview and thus, was not able to make it to the final list. Also, I missed the Reasoning sectional cutoff in RRB Clerk Mains, so I was rejected in that too. It was hard to tackle such failures. But, once again, with a little hope, I again started finding my loopholes, and finally this year, I got 92.5 marks in SBI Clerk Prelims and 114.5 marks in SBI Clerk Mains which is 16.75 marks more than the cutoff. Also, the final result of the RRB clerk, RRB PO, and IDBI PO is awaited.

Subject-wise preparation strategy:-

English

English is a subject in which improvement needs time. I watched lectures from various available sources. But, after a few days, I started to forget all the rules. So, instead of learning rules, I tried to remember only the basic rules of tense, subject-verb agreement, and with that, I learned vocabulary from Word Power Made Easy. With continuous practice and reading, I started getting 95+ percentile in mocks.

Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Awareness:

I learned the basic concepts and shortcut tricks from various sources and refined my approaches after that. Refining your approach continuously should be your main aim. In the Reasoning Section, I followed different sources for puzzles, logical reasoning, and the miscellaneous part, and then, I gave mocks and mocks. For the General Awareness section, which is the game changer section, I changed my sources various times.

Contribution of Oliveboard in his journey:

It is the best mock test platform. I am not saying it because I am writing a story over here. But, seriously it is best. It prepares us for the worst time. If you make your habit of giving Oliveboard Mocks daily, you will not face fear in the actual exam.

Tips for Future Aspirants:

Clear your basic concepts systematically from the videos. Then, give as many mocks as you can. Difficulties will come your way. Sometimes, you may not clear the exam even after giving your 100 percent but just remember, do not give up.
