1. The Success Story of Ashutosh Jha

Hello, My name is Ashutosh Jha, born and brought up in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. I did my B.tech in mechanical engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University. For 2 years, I worked in NTT DATA.

2. His Journey So far:

My overall exam experience is as follows:

-> Bank of Baroda PGDBF – Out in mains by 0.50 marks.

-> IBPS RRB PO 2017 – Out in the final list after the interview. Got 47.30. For the General category required cut off is 49.95.

-> SBI PO 2017 – Out in mains.

-> Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central investigation officer – Out in the final list after the interview.

Then I realized what was going wrong with me especially in the interviews, it was just about being confident because no one knows every answer, but you should always be authentic and confident enough to show your personal traits of being an Officer.

Finally, I got selected in IBPS in Bank of India, but that was still not a favorable outcome particularly for me. I thought I deserved more, I appeared in SBI 2019, luckily I was able to do better in mains and interview both. And finally, I am a Probationary Officer in SBI.

3. My Preparation Strategy

For Quant and Reasoning basics, I went through sectional mock tests of Oliveboard to increase calculation speed that is going to help me in data interpretation in mains, as well as in prelims word problems.

For General Awareness, daily, weekly, & monthly quizzes will be enough with almost all probable questions that could appear in the exam, one can go for any platform for GA.

English as usual demands focus and consistency in learning new words and reading. Keep practicing questions from the mock test and sectional test.

For Prelims, there is no end. Do as many mock tests as you can. And analyze each and every mock test. And lastly, focus on the time taken on questions.

4. How Oliveboard helped him achieve his Goal

I took the complete package of Oliveboard test series where I got numerous mock tests, specifically the mains mock tests were at par with the real exam. It helped me to tackle and approach lengthy and tricky questions of SBI PO mains. I think the regular practice of mock tests within the last 3 days span, is the key.

Honestly speaking, the mains level mock tests of Oliveboard is not easy at all, but if one can at least try to do this and analyze the answers, it will definitely boost the confidence and vanish the fear of attempting mains level questions.

One thing I want to share here is that there is no destiny in life where we can say that we have succeeded, but life is a journey which is full of ups and downs, don’t always go by your comfort zone, what most people do is that they do work hard but only in there strong and favorable areas, not in where they are weak like English and GS in most of the cases.

So, my suggestion is to work on your weak areas first. In starting this is going to be boring and very tough to focus on, but slowly you would realize that without doing this you would never get selected, like what I did especially in GA.
