NTPC inks pact with RINL for supply of limestone

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between NTPC Limited and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), for the supply of 9 lakh metric tonnes of limestone (lime chips, a by-product of the RINL, for the NTPC units across the country for five years.

Limestone is a raw material for the flue-gas desulphurization system which is being installed at the coal-based thermal plants of the NTPC for reduction of sulfur dioxide emission.

This MoU will cater to the needs of various plants of the NTPC.

ADIF and IIT Guwahati Incubation Center sign MoU to boost startup ecosystem

The Alliance of Digital India Foundation (ADIF) and IIT Guwahati Technology Incubation Centre (IIT Guwahati TIC) said they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote entrepreneurship and provide support to technology startups.

The two-year MOU aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem by facilitating collaboration between ADIF’s network of startups and entrepreneurs, and IIT Guwahati’s pool of innovators, faculty, and incubation facilities.

Sunil Kumar Yadav (IRS) has been appointed as Director of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

The has been selected for the appointment to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for five years from the date of taking charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

APSEZ’s Vizhinjam Port gets the nod to run as India’s first transshipment hub

The Centre has sanctioned Adani’s Vizhinjam Port in Kerala to operate as a transshipment port — a first for the country.

A transshipment port is a crucial hub where cargo is transferred from one big vessel to several smaller ones before it reaches the final discharge port. It will now help India in its ambition to become a manufacturing hub.
