Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the recruitment of a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) for the 376 vacancies in the state. The Commission will examine 666 vacancies for different posts such as Assistant Section Officer (ASO), State Tax Inspector (STI), and many more. The Commission has declared the last date to make the application for the PSI post was 30th November 2021. The recruitment process will be conducted through the group B exam.
The recruitment process for the MPSC PSI post is divided into four stages: Preliminary examination, Mains exam, Physical Measurement Test, and Interview. The posting of the selected candidates will be provided in Maharashtra. The Commission had issued the notification for the recruitment on 28th October 2021; however, the Commission issued the examination notification on 6th January 2022 for the 2021 cycle.
The said notification is issued for the post released for 2020 when exams could not be conducted due to the pandemic. The candidates should stay in touch with the official website of the Commission to stay updated regarding any updates related to the examination, like the MPSC PSI Exam Date.

MPSC PSI Selection Procedure
The recruitment process of the candidates for the PSI post takes place in four stages. All four stages are qualifying in nature. Once the candidates have cleared a phase, they can proceed to the next level.
Stage-I Preliminary Examination:
The MPSC PSI Exam Date for prelims was to be conducted on 4th September 2021 for the 2020 cycle. However, the Commission has released a new notification where the preliminary examination will be conducted on 26th February 2022 as per the 2021 cycle.

The duration of this examination is 1 hour. It is an objective-based Multiple Choice Question Paper that will be conducted in a written form.
Stage-II Mains Examination:
The candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination will be admitted to the Mains exam after they have made an application through their registered profile through the online application system of the Commission.
The candidates should refer to the website to get details about both examinations’ syllabi. The question paper for this exam will also be an Objective-based Mulitple Choice question paper.
The exam will be conducted for 300 marks for a duration of one and half hours (1.5 hours).
The candidates will be required to obtain at least 35% of the total marks allotted to this examination to qualify at this stage.
Stage III- Physical Tests:
The Commission will select the candidates around 4 times the number of total vacancies available for the physical tests. The cut-off marks will be fixed as per the procedure.
The candidates who will score higher than the above threshold limit will be deemed to be eligible for the fitness test. The location for the physical test will be decided by the Commission itself.
The MPSC PSI Exam Date for Physical Evaluation of the candidates is not declared, and the Commission will declare the dates once the results for Mains exams are declared.

To get selected for the final selection, the candidates need to obtain the minimum qualifying marks fixed as 45% by the Commission for the physical test.
Stage IV- Certificate Verification:
The candidates must appear with the original certificates or documents as per their eligibility to be selected in the final round. Failure to do so will disqualify them from the recruitment process, and the Commission will provide no extension.
MPSC PSI Admit Card
The Commission has released the admit card for the candidates who have cleared prelims and are eligible for appearing Mains exam. The candidates can download the admit cards released on 22nd January 2022 from the official website.

- They should take the printout of the admit card after downloading it to present it at the examination centre.

The final result will be declared after considering their overall performance in the process. MPSC will prepare the merit list after summing their marks in the Mains exam and physical tests. The MPSC PSI Exam Date has been declared, and therefore the candidates should start their preparation well in advance for the Mains exam to qualify for the posts.

Yes, the candidates will be penalized with a negative marking of 25% marks of the total marks allotted to the question whose answer has been wrongly provided by the candidates. The candidates should also note that if they give more than one answer to any of the questions then also their one-fourth i.e., 25% of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted from the total marks. So, one should attempt the question only if he/she is confident regarding its answer since on marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
