CSPHCL JE Exam Pattern: Overview, Minimum Qualifying Marks, Syllabus

A total of 307 vacancies have been released by CSPHCL or the Chhattisgarh State Power Holding Company Limited for the post of Junior Engineer via a notice release on 22/ 09/ 2021. According to the notice, candidates can fill out the online application form for the Examination between 29/ 09/ 2021 and 28/ 10/ 2021. CSPHCL JE Exam Pattern

The selection process for the post of Junior Engineer in the various departments of SCPHCL comprises 2 stages – The online Written Examination and Document Verification.  The marks obtained in the Written Examination will decide if a candidate qualifies to move to the next round which is the Document Verification round. The CSPHCL JE Exam Pattern of the Written Examination provides that:

  • The examination will be of 2 hours or 120 minutes duration.  
  • The Written Examination will be an online Examination. 
  • The Written Examination will be a Computer Based Examination (CBT).  
  • It will be conducted in English as well as in Hindi. 
  • In case an error or interpretation problem is found in the Hindi paper, then the English paper will prevail over the Hindi version.
  • The candidates will be required to answer a total of 100 questions.  
  • Part I of the Examination will comprise 80 questions that are related to professional subjects. 
  • Part II of the Examination will comprise 20 questions that are related to testing the candidate’s reasoning ability and general awareness.
  • The questions will all be objective-type, multiple-choice questions.  
  • Each question will be for 1 mark.  
  • If a question is answered correctly, 1 mark will be added to the candidate’s score.  
  • For every answer that the candidate answers incorrectly, one-fourth or 0.25 marks will be deducted from the candidate’s total 
  • For questions that are not answered by the candidate, no marks will be either deducted or awarded

Minimum Qualifying Percentage

The Examination Board has specified that during the process of selection, the minimum qualifying percentage in the Written Examination which is the Online Computer Based Test will be the selection process shall be UR/OBC – 40% & SC/ST – 30 %.

Some other important details associated with the Examination are:

  • The Examination will be held in Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai, Durg or Any other as later specified by CSPHCL
  • Electric, electronic gadgets, notes, books, etc., are not allowed into the Examination Hall.  It is advised not to carry them to the Examination Venue because the Examination conduction body will not be responsible for their safety or loss. 
  • Any candidate found participating in any fraudulent behaviour is liable to be disqualified, banned, etc.
  • Any candidate under the effect of any kind of intoxicant or in possession of any such product is liable to be banned from sitting for the Examination.
