IFS Officer Salary- Salary and Compensation Details

Even though the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) are the most sought-after prominent civil service posts in India among applicants, the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) has kept its lustra throughout time. It remains one of the most revered services. Group A services include the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). The All India Civil Services Exam, often known as the IAS Exam, recruits candidates.

There is also a common myth regarding this position: the IFS Officer Salary is the same pay as the IAS Officer Salary. However, they are distinct, and the allowances vary significantly depending on the nation to which an IFS Officer is assigned. Every year, roughly 10-15 individuals are chosen for the Indian Foreign Service positions. After passing the whole test procedure, candidates are trained. Confirmation in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) usually takes around three years from the day a candidate enters the IFS as a Foreign Service Probationer/Officer.

IFS Officer Salary

The Indian Foreign Service Officers are assigned to Indian embassies and high commissions across the world and Indian Ministry of External Affairs offices in India after completing their training. Salary and benefits are determined by an IFS Officer’s assignment location, whether in India or abroad. Officers stationed in other nations will be paid a Special Foreign Allowance based on the country’s Purchasing Power Parity. As a result, the wage structure outlined below will change depending on the Special Foreign Allowance received by officers stationed outside of India.

An Indian Abroad Service officer’s foreign allowance varies depending on where they are assigned. As your grade and level climb, so does your allowance.
