MPSC PSI Exam: Selection Process 

The commission recruits the candidates based on the overall performances in Prelims, Mains, Physical Test, and Interview and the vacancies available for the PSI position. Candidates have to clear all four stages and perform well during the training to get recruitment into the MPSC. 

For the MPSC PSI Recruitment, there are four stages of selection. 

The nature of each stage is qualifying in nature. The commission will call only those candidates for the next stage who will clear the last stage. Four stages of the selection process for the MPSC PSI Exam are:

Prelims Exam: The weightage of the prelims exam is 100 marks. This is the first stage for candidates to fill out an online application form within the specified time as declared by the MPSC. It is a computer-based exam and comprises 100 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each. The candidates who will score the minimum qualifying marks will only be eligible for the second stage.

Mains Exam: The weightage of the second stage is 200 marks. It comprises two computer-based tests, each of 100 marks. Paper I of the mains exam is the same for all candidates, while Paper II is based on the candidate’s post.

Physical Test (PST): The MPSC will conduct this test for those candidates who clear the mains exam. This test is to check the physical fitness of the candidates and know whether they fit the eligibility requirement of the post.

Interview: Only those candidates who have passed the PST will be called for the last round of interviews, which carries 40 points. During this stage, the interviewers test the candidate’s mental and emotional level along with their knowledge of current affairs and more.
