President Virtually Launches Ayushman Bhava Campaign

On 13th September, Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the ambitious ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign and the Ayushman Bhava Portal through a virtual launch event held at Raj Bhawan Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The President was joined by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, NITI Aayog‘s Dr. V K Paul, and Health Ministers from various states.

About the Ayushman Bhava Campaign

  • Highlighting the principle of “antyodaya,” which embodies the idea of ‘Good health for all and leave no one behind,’ Smt. Droupadi Murmu commended the active participation and support of local governance in this noble endeavor.
  • She announced that Gram Panchayats that successfully meet their healthcare objectives will be recognized and designated as Ayushman Gram Panchayats, further emphasizing the commitment to ensuring health for all.
  • The Ayushman Bhav Campaign is a holistic healthcare initiative by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, designed to ensure comprehensive healthcare services are accessible to every village and town across the nation.
  • This Campaign is set to be executed during the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ period, spanning from September 17 to October 2, 2023.

  • These include facilitating the distribution of Ayushman cards, generating ABHA IDs, and raising awareness about crucial health schemes and prevalent diseases, such as non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
  • The healthcare services provided through the three key components of Ayushman Bhav – Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Melas at Health and Wellness Centres (HWC) and Community Health Clinics (CHC), and Ayushman Sabhas in every village and panchayat – will significantly expedite the availability of healthcare services at the grassroots level.
  • This approach is instrumental in the journey toward building a healthy nation.

Moreover, India’s impressive progress in digital inclusion, extending to every village and district, plays a pivotal role in expanding the reach of healthcare facilities and making quality healthcare more accessible to all.
