NITI Aayog’s Campaign 2.0: In homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a “Clean India,” the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) initiated a special campaign to address pending matters. This campaign, which originally ran from October 2nd to 31st, 2021, proved so successful that it was extended into 2022 and further into 2023, evolving into Special Campaign 2.0. The primary focus of this extended campaign, spanning from November 2022 to August 2023, remained on ensuring the timely and effective resolution of public grievances, references from Members of Parliament, State Governments, Inter-Ministerial Consultations, and Parliamentary Assurances by Ministries/Departments.

NITI Aayog Takes Charge

Leading the charge for Special Campaign 2.0 were NITI Aayog and its affiliated offices, including the Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office (DMEO) and the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), both situated in NITI Bhawan. Furthermore, the autonomous institution, the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD), located in Narela, New Delhi, played an active role in this campaign. The central objective remained the prompt resolution of public grievances, references, and Parliamentary Assurances, all while maintaining a strong emphasis on cleanliness within the NITI Aayog premises.

Making Strides

Throughout the campaign, significant headway was made across various fronts. The disposal of public grievances, Parliamentary Assurances, and PMO References saw notable progress. In the realm of record management, a substantial number of files underwent review and clearance, thereby creating additional workspace and generating revenue through the scrapping of office materials. Of the designated physical files, over 75% were reviewed, and nearly 95% of public grievances and appeals were successfully addressed. The campaign also identified redundant scrap items and obsolete materials, ready for proper disposal.

Showcasing Progress

To transparently share their milestones and accomplishments, as well as to visually document their activities, NITI Aayog utilized the SCDPM Portal of DARPG. Through this portal, NITI Aayog provided a comprehensive view of the goals achieved and the campaign’s activities, underlining their unwavering commitment to cleanliness, efficient governance, and the realization of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a cleaner India.
