1. Subjective Study
The first step is learning. The RBI Assistant exam is not really easy to crack. Hence, candidates should make sure they try and complete the syllabus to the best of their ability. In this case, your priority should be first to study subjectively. This you will tackle topic-wise. Make note of each small concept and/or topic as you learn. The focus here should be accuracy.
Along with topic-wise study, make sure to not skip out on practice questions. The best time to practice questions when preparing is right after you cover a topic. This will keep the concept fresh in your mind and will make sure that you are clear in all aspects of the application of that concept. Don’t forget to include the previous year’s questions in your practice questions.
2. Mock Tests
Mock tests are an integral part of preparation. They help you to immerse into the environment of the exam, and understand exactly how you’ll face it. Mock tests are also a great gauge of preparation and your progress. Here are a few tips when it comes to integrating mock tests into your preparation-
- Try and do mocks regularly. You can start with 2-3 a week, but as you progress try and increase it to alternative days. This will ensure repeated revision of the topics you have covered.
- Make it a point to analyze your mock test once you’ve completed it. There is no use in blindly attempting these tests and then not seeing how you’re performing in them.
- During analysis, make a note of the topics you’re getting wrong and re-introduce them in your subject study schedule. Repeat this until you get all the answers right.
3. How to Tackle the Sections
RBI Assistant Prelims exam mainly has three sections – Quantitative, Reasoning, and English. In case you are simultaneously preparing for other bank or government exams, studying the topics specific to RBI Assistant alternatively or 2 hours for one section each day will suffice.
However, in case you are solely preparing for RBI Assistant, you can study each section every day. Divide the time depending on the topics you are finding it hard to tackle and focus on improving your accuracy and speed in those. The division and management of time is all dependent on your own schedule, learning speed, strong and weak areas, etc.
4. Mode of Learning
RBI Assistant can well be cracked by studying from home. Candidates can self-study using books, and videos through multiple YouTube channels that cover these topics in detail. Some may feel they prepare better under the guidance of a teacher. In this case, you can join dedicated courses for RBI Assistant.
