South Indian Bank Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The South Indian Bank released the Notification to recruit candidates to the post of Probationary Officer (PO).  The Notification was released on the Bank’s official website on 1st September 2021. The online form filling process for eligible applicants was opened and started on 1st September 2021, and the last date for applying was fixed for 8th September 2021.  The Notification has not specified the number of open vacancies, but it is expected that the bank will fill over 350 vacancies via this notification. The notification is available for reading and downloading by anyone here.

South Indian Bank Syllabus & Exam Pattern: Overview

Before you sit for an examination, you must have complete information about the syllabus for that examination and the examination pattern. South Indian Bank Probationary Officer Process of Selection

The selection process for the South Indian Bank Probationary Officer comprised two different stages, and the first has to be cleared to qualify for the second stage.

The two stages of the Recruitment process are:

  • Online Test
  • Interview

Those candidates whose applications are seen as being in order shall be called for the Online Test. From the list of candidates who clear the Online Test, the Examination Board of the Bank will shortlist an adequate number of them, and these shortlisted candidates will be invited for the Interview round. Being eligible in every respect does not vest in the applicant any right to be invited for the Interview round. 

The South Indian Bank vests in itself the right to modify the selection process taking into account the number of candidates who have applied for the position.  The Bank also has the right to decide how many candidates should be asked to appear for the round of Interviews. 

For all matters associated with the eligibility or the selection of candidates, the decision of the South Indian Bank will be taken as being final, and the Bank will not entertain any further correspondence on the issue. 

After Final Selection

All candidates who are selected after the Interview round do not become permanent immediately.  First, there is a period of training, then a period of internship, then a Service Agreement Period, and then the post Service Agreement Period, which is a period of probation. After the probation period is completed, the candidate is given a confirmation letter.  Given below are the various stages:

  • Classroom Training (Eight Months)
  • Internship (Four months)
  • Service Agreement Period (Two Years)
  • Probation Period (One Year)
  • Confirmation
