1. Motivating Success Story of Rohith Raga

I am Raga Rohith from Kurnool district (Andhra Pradesh). I cleared IBPS PO in my first attempt and got allotment in the Oriental Bank of Commerce.

I had done my graduation in B.tech CSE. At first, I thought of doing an MBA after my graduation and prepared for CAT but I failed too badly, then I started searching for alternate options for my life and thought that the Banking sector would be the best field.

Hence, I started preparing for IBPS PO. And during my research, I found this great website OLIVEBOARD.

Immediately, I registered myself for the Edge course of Oliveboard. And for Quant, Reasoning, and English I also got myself registered for sectional and topic tests which played a major role in my success.

I would be joining OBC soon as a PO but will never stop my preparation on OLIVEBOARD for other exams like SSC CGL and RBI Grade B.

2. Preparation Strategy Of Rohith (section-wise)

2.1 Quant Section Preparation Strategy

As I was already preparing for CAT I was good at quant but banking exams require a lot of speed, more than the speed you have, to rightly decide what questions to be attempted.

So I made a list of topics which are more common in prelims and mains. For example topics like profit and loss, Simple and compound interest have a good weightage both in prelims and mains.

So, I first concentrated on those topics by attempting topic tests after listening to classes on Oliveboard. Later I started attempting chapter tests for the quant along with LPS conducted by OLIVEBOARD. Parallelly I used to attempt full-length mock tests where I used to analyze my weak points so that I can concentrate or revise them for my next exam.

2.2 Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

The one and only mantra to ace reasoning are to know what to attempt and what not to attempt at mains level and what to be attempted at first in the prelims level.

This comes only by regular practice as few questions of data interpretation and stack-based puzzles with huge data will be easier for attempting. And the strategy to attempt is to divide time equally for puzzles, charts, and single liner questions which helps you to attempt easier questions in both types.

Apart from this, regularly attending topic and sectional tests improved my speed in this section. Full-length mock tests give you an overall strategy of how to attempt in the real exam. So, keep giving full-length mock tests regularly.

2.3 English Section Preparation Strategy

English is the only scoring subject irrespective of the level of your paper. If you are good at reading, try to improve your reading speed by regularly reading abstract topics that are tough to comprehend but that will help you and make you ready for the toughest exams as well.

We can find Abstract and relatable topics mostly in newspapers like Financial times and Business standards. Reading the Hindu editorial daily will also help you to do well in the essay part of mains.

The only way to do well in the essay is to regularly write what you read in a note and in your own words. This helps you to improve your reading and writing skills at the same time.

Keep attempting as many sectional tests as possible so that you can be acquainted with all types of questions and grammar-based rules.

2.4 General Awareness Preparation Strategy

The only way I followed to clear the GA section was regular revision. I used to follow the bolt material of Oliveboard and revise it at least 5 times a month.

Apart from this I also used to attend regular live classes like daily TNA, GA genius, 5 AT 5, etc. by Aditya sir on Oliveboard Youtube platform where I can check to what level I remember the content.

The static part of GA is always relatable to dynamic content. So, both should go hand in hand.

2.5 Few Pointers On Interview Experience

Questions in my interview mainly concentrated on banking knowledge.

They varied from the role of PSBs, RRBs in rural development to BASEL 3 norms.

Aditya sir’s interview course on edge helped me a lot to ace my interview and also his mock interview helped me to realize the topics that I need to concentrate on.

3. Rohith’s Take On Role of Oliveboard

Full-length mock tests played a major role in knowing my weakness and competing at the All India level. Oliveboard full-length mock tests have varied difficulty levels which help you to prepare for all levels.

The interview course on Oliveboard also helped me a lot to clear this exam in my first attempt. I also gave my SSC CGL 2019 and scored a raw score of 160 in tier-1.

4. Few Tips To Aspirants

My only suggestion to the new aspirants is “NEVER GIVE UP”, keep trying and you will ace your target one day.

I would like to thank the whole Oliveboard team for my success as they played an equal role in my success apart from my hard work.
