Union Minister Inaugurates Project “Heartland Tripura”

Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has inaugurated the “Heartland Tripura” project. This initiative is a skill development collaboration between Deloitte and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Agartala. It aims to enhance skill development opportunities in Tripura and align with the country’s commitment to nurturing a skilled and technologically proficient workforce.

About Heartland Tripura Project

The “Heartland Tripura” project launched at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala. Its primary objective is to offer skill development and employment opportunities to undergraduate students, encompassing both engineering and non-engineering disciplines.

Deloitte, in collaboration with NIELIT, Agartala, is driving the implementation of “Heartland Tripura,” with the support of both the Government of India and the Government of Tripura. The inaugural event was also be graced by Km. Pratima Bhoumik, Minister of State, Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, as the guest of honor, and Smt. Santana Chakma, Minister of Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), and Welfare of OBCs, Government of Tripura, will be present as a special guest. This initiative underscores the commitment to fostering skill development and empowering the youth in Tripura.

Objectives

The “Heartland Tripura” project will offer a tailored array of skill development certification courses delivered through NIELIT-Agartala. This initiative provides select professionals with the chance to participate in internships, potentially leading to promising employment opportunities once they meet the certification and internship requirements.

The certification courses offered under “Heartland Tripura” span various contemporary technical and professional development skills, including cybersecurity, internal audit, and analytics, alongside soft skills such as business communication and executive presence. This comprehensive approach to skill development equips participants with a broad range of competencies to thrive in today’s dynamic job market.
