UPSC CAPF 2024: Paper 2 Exam Pattern
The Paper 2 of the UPSC CAPF exam is a bit different from the Paper 1. In this stage, there are two sections, A and B. For Part A, there is essay which can be written in either Hindi or English, and it’s worth 80 marks. Part B is specifically for testing English writing skills, comprehension, and basic grammar which must be written in English. Part B is worth 120 marks. Unlike the first part, there’s no penalty for wrong answers in Paper 2.

UPSC CAPF 2024: Paper 2 Syllabus
Paper 2 of UPSC CAPF Exam is descriptive in nature and is divided into two parts. Part A is for 80 marks and Part B is for 120 marks, which makes Paper 2 of 200 marks in total.

After qualifying the written examination, candidates go through the Physical Efficiency Test or UPSC CAPF Physical Standard Tests. This test is qualifying in nature. In this test, candidates are evaluated on various parameters. For female candidates, it is mandatory to submit pregnancy test certificate.

UPSC CAPF Interview/Personality Test 2024
Once candidates successfully pass the Written test, PET, and Medical Standards, they move on to the final stage of the selection process for UPSC CAPF – the Interview. This interview, also known as the Personality test, holds significant weight, carrying 150 marks that contribute to the final merit list. The purpose of this stage is to evaluate the personality and determine the suitability of the candidates. Those shortlisted for the interview receive a Detailed Application Form (DAF), where they specify their force preferences and provide other necessary details. This interview phase plays a crucial role in deciding the overall ranking of candidates in the final selection process.

UPSC CAPF Syllabus FAQs
There is negative marking of 0.33 in the written exam of CAPF for every wrong answer but for PET/PST, there is not any negative marking.
Paper 1 of the written exam is objective in nature while Paper 2 is descriptive.
Paper 1 and Part A of Paper 2 is bilingual means they can be attempted in either Hindi or English while Part B of Paper 2 can be attempted in the English language only.
The weightage of Paper 1 is 250 marks, and Paper 2 is for 200 marks. Both section makes the total of 450 marks. further the Interview is for 150 marks.
