UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the CAPF 2024 Exam, candidates must meet certain requirements set by the UPSC. These requirements include age limits and educational qualifications. UPSC CAPF Age Limit 2024

Candidates should be at least 20 years old but not older than 25 as of August 1, 2024, means their birth should fall between August 2, 1999, and August 1, 2004. However, age relaxations are applied for the eligible candidates.

UPSC CAPF Age Limit Relaxation

As per the UPSC CAPF eligibility, there are relaxations in the upper age limit for aspirants belonging to reserved categories. Here are the age relaxations for different categories:

UPSC CAPF Nationality/Citizenship

Aspirants who meet the following citizenship criteria can apply for UPSC CAPF exam:

• To apply for the UPSC CAPF exam, aspirants must be Indian citizens.
• Individuals holding citizenship in Bhutan or Nepal are also eligible for the UPSC CAPF exam.
• Candidates from other nationalities cannot be employed or appointed in the Armed Police Forces unless they obtain written consent from the Central Government.
• CAPF exam eligibility doesn’t impose any conditions on gender; both males and females are eligible to take the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam, provided they meet the conditions outlined in the medical standards.

UPSC CAPF Educational Qualification 2024

Candidates aspiring to take the UPSC CAPF exam must meet the following academic qualifications to satisfy the Assistant Commandant eligibility criteria; –

• A Bachelor’s degree from any Government-recognized university or one incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India is a valid academic qualification for UPSC CAPF Exam.
• Educational institutions declared as deemed universities under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission-UGC Act, 1956, or established by an Act of Parliament are also acceptable.
• Candidates awaiting results of their graduation examination can apply for the UPSC CAPF Exam. However, their admission will be provisional until proof of passing the examination is provided after qualifying the CAPF exam.
• Candidates with professional/technical qualifications recognized by the Government as equivalent to a professional and technical degree also meet the academic qualification criteria for Assistant Commandant eligibility.
• Exceptions exist where candidates without the mentioned qualifications are provisionally qualified by UPSC if they have passed an examination conducted by other institutions whose standards justify UPSC CAPF eligibility.

Number of Attempts

The Union Public Service Commission has not specified a maximum limit on the number of attempts for aspirants in the UPSC CAPF exam. However, there is an age restriction set by UPSC, allowing aspirants to apply for the CAPF exam only between the ages of 20 and 25 years.

The aspirants must fulfill the vision standards to qualify for UPSC CAPF exam. The vision standards are below in the table: –

UPSC CAPF Eligibility: Medical Standards

In case any aspirants have undergone a LASIK surgery, then the aspirants must fall under any of the criteria given below:

• Age: 18-35 years
• Axial length: 21-26 mm.
• Corneal thickness: 425 microns
• Pre LASIK error: 6 D
• Post-operative: stable period refractive flap
• Interval- 6 months (post-operative period)

Other Medical Requirements

Carrying Angle	For male candidates, the carrying angle should not exceed 15 degrees. For female candidates, it should not exceed 20 degrees.
Ear	No chronic ear discharge or deafness. No conditions obstructing the ear channel (acquired or congenital). No history of recurrent earache, vertigo, or tinnitus.
Nose	No DNS, atrophic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, tuberculous ulceration.
Neck	No thyroid, swollen lymph nodes, or other swellings. No difficulty in completely extending the neck. No signs of cervical vertebral or spine disease.
Teeth	Sufficient number of healthy teeth for proper mastication. No severe pyorrhea.
Venereal Disease	No history of venereal disease. No active clinical indications of VD.
Chronic Skin Disorders	Free of chronic skin diseases such as dermatitis, widespread Pityriasis Versicolor, leprosy, chronic eczema, psoriasis, SLE, and other skin conditions.
General Standards	No stammering while speaking. No chronic diseases like arthritis, TB, high blood pressure, Bronchial Asthma, Diabetes, or heart disease. No perceptible and visible glandular swelling. Well-formed chest with no abnormalities. Sound heart and lungs. Fully developed and well-formed limbs, feet, and hands. Perfect motion of all joints. No old or malunited fractures. No defects or congenital malformations. No traces of previous chronic or acute diseases. No disease of the genital urinary tract. No scrotal swelling, inguinal, or any type of Hernia. Normal size and position of testicles. No knock knees, varicose veins, flat foot. Good mental and bodily health. No BRADYCARDIA or TACHYCARDIA. No Hernia, condylomas prolapse rectum, or hemorrhoids.

UPSC CAPF Eligibility 2024: Marital Criteria

According to UPSC CAPF eligibility, there are no specific marital criteria for applying to the UPSC CAPF exam. The official notification from the Union Public Service Commission also does not specify any special considerations for married or unmarried aspirants. If aspirants meet all other CAPF eligibility criteria, they will be considered eligible for the UPSC CAPF examination.
