India-Origin Vaibhav Taneja Appointed Tesla's CFO

Currently serving as the Chief Accounting Officer, Taneja will take on the additional role of CFO. This transition comes as Zachary Kirkhorn, who has held the CFO position for 13 years, completes his tenure with the company.

Although Tesla has not specified the reason for this change, it is anticipated that Kirkhorn will remain in his role until the end of the year to facilitate a seamless transition. Vaibhav Taneja, aged 45, holds a degree in commerce from the University of Delhi.
He joined Tesla’s team after the company’s acquisition of SolarCity in 2016.
In addition to his role as Chief Accounting Officer, Taneja took on the significant responsibility of “Master of Coin” within the company.
In January 2021, Taneja was appointed as the director for Tesla’s Indian subsidiary, Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Limited.
