NeGD Organises 39th CISO Deep Dive Training Programme Under Cyber Surakshit Bharat Initiative

The Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative, led by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), was conceived with the aim of raising awareness about cybercrime and enhancing the capabilities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT officials in various government departments.

The goal is to ensure effective safety measures to combat the increasing threat of cyberattacks. In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, organizations need to fortify their digital infrastructures and prepare for future challenges posed by cyber threats.

39th CISO Deep-Dive Training Program

As part of its Capacity Building scheme, the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) organized the 39th CISO Deep-Dive training program from August 7th to 11th, 2023. The program took place at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi and included the participation of 25 individuals from Central Line Ministries.

Inauguration

The opening ceremony of the program was inaugurated by Sh. S.N Tripathi, Director General of the Indian Institute of Public Administration. This initiative underscores the commitment to enhancing cybersecurity measures and fostering the expertise of government officials to effectively address cyber risks and safeguard critical digital assets.

Objectives

Background

  • Launched in 2018, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) training program is a pioneering collaboration between the Government and an industry consortium, operating under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
  • From June 2018 to August 2023, the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) successfully conducted 39 batches of CISO deep-dive training programs, benefiting over 1,489 CISOs and frontline IT officials.
