Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards – List of Winners

Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards

• Given by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India’s National Academy of Music, Dance & Drama. 
• Highest Indian recognition given to practicing artists in the categories of music, dance, theatre, other traditional arts and puppetry, and for contribution/scholarship in performing arts.
• Given since 1952
• It symbolizes not only the highest standard of excellence and achievements, but also recognizes sustained individual work and contribution.
• The award carries a cash prize of ₹ 1 lakh, a Tamrapatra (brass plaque) and Angavastram (shawl).
