9th National Ayurveda Day 2024

This year’s Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on an international scale, with participation from approximately 100 countries around the world. The Ministry of Ayush will collaborate with various ministries in India to ensure the event’s success. To discuss the arrangements for this Day, scheduled on Dhanvantari Jayanti, which falls on October 29, 2024, the Ministry of Ayush conducted a meeting involving multiple ministries.

During the meeting, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, the Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, emphasized the importance of organizing Ayurved Day as a national program in line with the vision of India’s Prime Minister. The success of this event relies on the cooperation and support of all ministries in the country.

Ayurveda Day Theme 2024

As of today, the theme for Ayurveda Day 2024 has not been announced yet.

The theme in 2023 was ‘Ayurveda for One Health’. The government’s emphasis for Ayurveda Day revolves around three key themes: ‘Ayurved for students, Ayurved for farmers, Ayurved for public health,’ all encapsulated in the overarching message of ‘Ayurved for everyone every day.’

The primary objective of this Day is to foster the promotion and global dissemination of Ayurved, positioning it on the international stage for the betterment of humanity, animals, plants, and the environment.

What is Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine that emphasizes the prevention and treatment of diseases through diet, lifestyle, and herbal remedies. It is based on the belief that the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and that health is achieved when all three are in balance.

History of Ayurveda Day

Ayurveda Day is celebrated annually in India on the day of Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) to promote and celebrate Ayurveda. It was first observed on October 28, 2016, by the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) of the Government of India.

Significance of Ayurved Day

Ayurved is gaining popularity around the world, as people are becoming more interested in natural and holistic approaches to health and well-being. It can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. It can also be used to improve overall health and vitality.

On the auspicious occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti, falling on October 29, 2024, Ayurveda Day will be celebrated globally, with the active participation of nearly 100 countries. The Ministry of Ayush, in collaboration with various Indian ministries, is meticulously planning and coordinating the event.
