To sell a weight or measure in the international market, an OIML Pattern Approval certificate is mandatory. This certificate can now be issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs. Reports prepared by the Legal Metrology’s Regional Reference Standards Laboratories (RRSLs) in India are now recognized and accepted by OIML issuing authorities.

Bharat has become an authority for issuing OIML pattern approval certificates, which is a major boon for domestic manufacturers.
