  • ISRO is set to launch its earth observation satellite, RISAT-2BR1 on PSLV-C48 from the first launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. PSLV stands for Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.
  • External Affairs Ministry will host 6th Indian Ocean Dialogue and Delhi dialogue XI in New Delhi on 13th & 14th of December. Theme for this year’s Indo-Pacific meeting is  Re-imagining the Indian Ocean through an expanded Geography.
  • India ranked 9th in the Climate Change Performance Index released at the COP 25 climate summit held in Madrid. The first 3 places in the ranking remained unoccupied with Sweden at 4th, UK-7th and India 9th.
  • World’s first fully electric commercial aircraft took its inaugural test flight in Canada. It is manufactured by magniX in partnership with Harbour Air.
  • Switzerland will be the country partner for 17th edition of BioAsia 2020, to be held from 17th-19th Feb 2020 in Hyderabad, Telangana.
  • Reliance Industries has signed an agreement with state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to explore a joint venture for building an ethylene dichloride (EDC) facility in Ruwais.

  • Asian Development Bank trimmed India’s GDP growth for 2019-20 to 5.1% saying consumption was affected by slow job growth & rural distress aggravated by poor harvest. Earlier ADB forecasted India’s GDP for 2019-20 to be at 6.5%.
  • Israel is set to have elections again for electing President as Benjamin Netanyahu faces criminal indictment and is fighting for his political survival.
  • Greta Thunberg is named as Time’s Person of the Year. The 16-year-old from Sweden has become a new face of the new generation of activists.
  • United Kingdom is set to vote today as the polling began today. Boris Johnson is relying on the Brexit next month from the Europian Union as his motto for election win.

  • India after a dominant performance in the 3rd T20I in Wankhede Stadium Mumbai against West Indies, clinched the 3 match series with 2-1.
  • PV Sindhu loses opener against Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi. She was participating in BWF World Tour Final.
  • Liverpool makes it to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, along with Chelsea. Liverpool marked its way through Salzburg by carefully sealing the spot.
  • David Schumacher, son of former F1 driver Ralf, is the latest addition to the MRF Challenge (round 2), which now moves to the Bahrain International Circuit.
