The ambitious Golden Quadrilateral Freight Corridor is a 6 DFC(Dedicated Freight Corridor) project that runs around the heart of India, covering the central parts of India. The rail tracks link all metropolitan cities of India and are referred to as the Golden Quadrilateral. 

The Golden Quadrilateral carries 55% of the freight load that Railways handles across the country and covers a total length of 10122km.
