The JKSSB or the Jammu & Kashmir State Selection Board conducts a written examination to evaluate the candidates based on the knowledge set by the Board as the requirement for a person to get admitted for the post of Junior Statistical Assistant in the Department. JKSSB Junior Statistical Assistant Exam Pattern

The JKSSB Junior Statistical Assistant Exam Pattern is a written test of a maximum of 120 marks. It is an Objective type exam consisting of Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs). The Maximum Time allocated is 2 Hours. For each wrong answer, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks.

What is the place of a JKSSB Junior Statistical Assistant in the J & K Government?

Before understanding the JKSSB Junior Statistical Assistant Syllabus and JKSSB Junior Statistical Assistant Exam Pattern, let us come to terms with its place in the Governance structure of J & K. The statistical section of Jammu and Kashmir has been formed long ago. It is timely expanded to cover major economic and statistic concerns for the state. The department’s recent expansion has entitled the unit as “Statistical Bureau”, comprising of 20 officials. This statistical bureau is the “Directorate of Economics and Statistics”, which has two regional Directorates – Jammu and Kashmir. There are two levels at which the Department works – The District level and the Block level. It is the block level, i.e. the Block development Offices, where a Junior Statistical Assistant works under the Planning/Statistical Unit.

A Junior Statistical Assistant is a non-gazetted service administered by the gazetted service, Director General Economics & Statistics, being the major head of the Department of Service.
