1. The Currency in circulation soars 17% to Rs 21.10 trillion.
2. There are several uncertainties in the near-term economic outlook for India.
3. RBI says growth deceleration is a “soft patch mutating into cyclical downswing” and not structural.
4. Lack of domestic demand is ailing the animal spirits and there is a need to focus on reviving private investments and consumption.
5. Post-IL& FS crisis, credit flow from NBFCs to commercial sector dipped by 20%.
6. Banks reported 6,801 fraud cases, involving Rs 71,542.93 crore in FY19.
7. After Rs 52,637-crore payout to the central government from excess reserves, RBI’s contingency fund stands at Rs 1,96,344 crore.
8. Farm loan waivers, seventh pay panel implementation, income support schemes constrained states’ ability to deliver fiscal stimulus.
9. The RBI contingency fund comes down to Rs 1.96 lakh crore in Financial Year 2019 from Rs 2.32 lakh crore in Financial Year 2018.
