The “Meri Maati Mera Desh” (MMMD) campaign is now in its final phase, with Amrit Kalash Yatras happening all over the country. This campaign aims to reach every household in India and has brought together various government bodies and organizations to pay homage to the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for our nation. A Nationwide Outreach:

This campaign is a massive effort to collect soil from every household in villages and block levels throughout the country. Multiple Ministries, State governments, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Zonal Cultural Centers, Central Armed Police Forces, Indian Post, Miety, and Coal are actively involved in this mission. Their collective commitment shows their dedication to serving the community and contributing to nation-building.

Cultural Awareness Programs:

The Ministry of Culture’s zonal culture centers are arranging cultural events in rural areas to raise awareness about the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign. These events help to spread the message and connect with more people. So far, over 4419 blocks have organized the campaign, and the response from the public has been heartening.

Paying Tribute to the Veers:

The campaign was officially launched on August 9, 2023, with the aim of honoring the courageous individuals known as ‘Veers’ who gave their lives for our country. This initiative marked the conclusion of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ which started on March 12, 2021, and involved extensive public participation with over 200,000 programs organized across India.

Remarkable Achievements:

The initial phase of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign has been highly successful with broad outreach and significant public involvement. So far, over 233,000 Shilaphalakams have been constructed across 36 States/UTs. Additionally, nearly 40 million selfies with the Panch Pran pledge have been shared on the campaign’s website. The campaign has also organized over 200,000 events to honor Bravehearts nationwide. Under the Vasudha Vandan theme, over 236 million indigenous saplings have been planted, and 263,000 Amrit Vatikas have been created.

The Grand Finale: Meri Maati Mera Desh

The Amrit Kalash Yatras will reach their peak at Kartavya Path in a grand ceremony on October 30th and 31st, 2023. During this event, a monumental Kalash symbolizing the unity and diversity of our nation will be filled with soil collected from every part of the country and placed in the Amrit Vatika and Amrit Mahotsav Memorial. This exceptional celebration will include vibrant cultural events and captivating light and sound displays, offering attendees an immersive sensory experience.
