REET Exam

The Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET) is a yearly exam held by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Ajmer. The purpose of this test is to find the finest candidates for the position of Teacher. Candidates can only apply for the REET exam online. Candidates who pass the REET Exam are eligible to apply for TGT jobs in Rajasthan. However, they must check the REET Eligibility criteria to prevent disqualification at a later stage.

REET Eligibility Criteria 

In REET, the eligibility criteria for Primary Teachers and Upper Primary Teachers differ. Some conditions, such as age, documentation, and reservation facilities, are shared by both. Reservations are extended following government regulations.

The official REET Recruitment Notification specifies the REET Eligibility Criteria. There are three major categories of REET qualifying requirements:

  • Age Criteria
  • Educational Qualification
  • Nationality

REET Age Limit

For the REET exam, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (BSER) does not specify a minimum or maximum age limit. As a result, applicants of any age group who meet the other eligibility requirements are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualifications For REET

The following are the minimum eligibility criteria for both Level I and Level II examinations, which are carefully followed in terms of educational qualification:

REET Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5) 

  1. Candidates must have finished their Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate and have passed or been in the last year of a Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.), by whatever name it is known, or be in the final year of a Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.). OR
  2. Candidates must have passed or been in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.), by whatever name known, and following the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulation, 2002, OR have completed their Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks and have passed or been in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.), by whatever name known, OR
  3. Candidates must have graduated Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and passed or be enrolled in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education program (B. El. Ed.), OR
  4. Candidate must have graduated Senior Secondary (or Intermediate) with a minimum of 50% aggregate and passed or be enrolled in the last year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), OR
  5. Candidates must have completed or been in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.) or it’s equivalent.

REET Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8) 

  1. Candidates must have completed or been in the last year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.) under any name, OR
  2. Candidate must have completed their bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate, and have passed one year of B. Ed., or be in the final year of a two-year bachelor’s degree program (B. Ed.), OR
  3. According to the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard, a candidate must have graduated with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate marks and 1 year B. Ed. passed, or be in the final year of a two-year Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.), OR
  4. Candidates must have completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate and passed or be enrolled in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education programme (B. El. Ed.), OR
  5. Candidates must have completed their Senior Secondary (or Equivalent) with minimum 50% marks, and have passed or are appearing in the final year of 4-year BA B. Ed. / B.Sc. Ed. or BA / B.Sc. Ed., OR
  6. Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a one-year B. Ed. program and have received a minimum of 50% in aggregate (Special Education).

Nationality

Candidates applying for REET positions must be Indian citizens. This recruitment is not open to overseas candidates or anyone with the nationality of other nations.

Other Important REET Conditions

  • Before applying for this REET position, candidates must have a valid email address.
  • Candidates must have a current and valid mobile phone number, as this will be required for the application.
  • To be eligible for this test, candidates must have a minimum score of 60%.

What are the stages in the REET Exam?

There are two stages of the REET Exam. Applicants must first take a written exam. The names of candidates who pass the exam are used to create a merit list. Candidates that pass the exam will be invited to the final stage of the process, the Interview.

What is the maximum age limit under the REET Eligibility Criteria?

REET 2021 does not have an upper age limit.
