The RPF Constable Selection Process consists of 4 stages which candidates have to pass. Without qualifying all the stages, aspirants will not be considered for the RPF Constable Recruitment 2024 (RPF CEN No. 02/2024). So, it is important to know all the stages in detail. RPF Constable Selection Process

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is conducting the RRB RPF Constable2024 Exam for 4208 vacancies. Candidates who applied for the post will have to go through the following successive stages. RRB Constable Selection Stages-Overview

To give an overview of the selection stages involved in the RPF Constable selection process, we have provided the table below which mentions the details as well as the exam date for all the stages.

RPF Constable Selection Stage 1: Computer Based Test

Candidates who apply for the Constable post, are required to appear for the first stage of recruitment which is a computer based test. The questions will be in the form of multiple choice based type.

The medium of the exam is Hindi, English, or any regional language.
Questions appearing in the exam have a difficulty level of 10th standard.
Each question carries one mark.
There is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark.

RPF Constable Selection Stage 2: PET/PST

Candidates who qualify the CBT, will be called for stage 2 which is Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test. The PET/PST Criteria is different for male and female candidates.

Constable PET Criteria for Male Candidates:

RPF Constable Physical Standard Test

During this stage, physical built such as height, weight, and chest will be measured. The chest measurement is not applicable for female candidates.

RPF Constable Selection Stage 3: Document Verification

The document verification (DV) process for RPF Constable recruitment is the 3rd stage after the Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). During DV, candidates must present original documents to confirm their eligibility, identity, age, educational qualifications, and category. Here are the documents required for verification:

Educational Certificates: Original and copies of mark sheets and certificates, including the 10th-grade certificate.
Birth Certificate: Proof of age.
Category Certificate: For SC/ST/OBC candidates, as applicable.
Domicile Certificate: If required, to verify residence.
ID Proof: Such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Passport, or any other government-issued ID.
Photographs: Recent passport-sized photos.
NOC: For candidates currently employed in government or semi-government sectors.

RPF Constable Selection Stage 4: Medical Examination

The medical examination is conducted to assess the physical and mental health of candidates to ensure they are fit for the role. This examination takes place after the Document Verification (DV) stage for those who have successfully cleared the previous rounds.

General Physical Health: Candidates must be in good overall health, with no medical conditions that could hinder their ability to perform duties.

Visual Acuity Standards: Candidates are evaluated for their eyesight. The required visual standards generally include:

Distant Vision: 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other without corrective lenses.
Near Vision: Sn. 0.6 combined with or without glasses.
Color Vision: Must pass color vision tests, as the ability to distinguish colors is essential for duty.
Hearing Ability: Candidates must have normal hearing, without the need for hearing aids.

RPF Constable Final Merit List and Job Posting

The RPF Constable final merit list is created based on candidates’ scores in the CBT, along with results from PET, PMT, Document Verification, and Medical Examination stages. It is prepared with respect to category-wise reservation policies and published on the official website. After selection, candidates are assigned zones or divisions, followed by mandatory training at RPF centers. Post-training, they are posted across Indian Railways zones for their constable duties.
