RPF Constable Selection Stage 1: Computer-Based Test

Candidates who apply for the constable post, are required to appear for the first stage of recruitment which is a computer-based test. The questions will be in the form of a multiple choice-based type.

• The medium of the exam is Hindi, English, or any regional language.
• Questions appearing in the exam have a difficulty level of 10th standard.
• Each question carries one mark.
• There is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark.

RPF Constable PET PST Schedule 2025

Candidates who meet the RPF Constable eligibility for the CBT tests will be called for stage 2 which is the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test. The PET/PST Criteria are different for male and female candidates. Given below are the details:

RPF Constable Selection Stage 3: Document Verification

The document verification (DV) process for RPF Constable recruitment is the 3rd stage after the Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). During DV, candidates must present original documents to confirm their eligibility, identity, age, educational qualifications, and category. Here are the documents required for verification:

• Educational Certificates: Original and copies of mark sheets, 10th-grade certificates, etc
• Birth Certificate: Proof of age.
• Category Certificate: For SC/ST/OBC candidates, as applicable.

RPF Constable Medical Test Details

The medical examination is conducted to assess the physical and mental health of candidates to ensure they are fit for the role. This examination takes place after the Document Verification (DV) stage for those who have successfully cleared the previous rounds. The RPF Constable medical test details are as follows:

General Physical Health: Candidates must be in good overall health, with no medical conditions that could hinder their ability to perform duties.

Visual Acuity Standards: Candidates are evaluated for their eyesight. The required visual standards generally include:

• Distant Vision: 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other without corrective lenses.
• Near Vision: Sn. 0.6 combined with or without glasses.
• Color Vision: Must pass color vision tests, as the ability to distinguish colors is essential for duty.
• Hearing Ability: Candidates must have normal hearing, without the need for hearing aids.

RPF Constable Final Merit List and Job Posting

The RPF Constable final merit list is created based on candidates’ scores in the CBT, along with results from PET, PMT, Document Verification, and Medical Examination stages. It is prepared for category-wise reservation policies and published on the official website. After selection, candidates are assigned zones or divisions, followed by mandatory training at RPF centers. Post-training, they are posted across Indian Railways zones for their constable duties.
