Read the success story of Prince, who has shifted his career from private to banking. Along with SO (IT) 2019 , he has even cleared IBPS Clerk. During his preparation along with attempting mock tests, he did give equal time to analyze them.
Inspiring Success Story of Prince Jain
Hello everyone, my name is Prince Jain. I have cleared both IBPS SO (IT) and the IBPS Clerk exam. This one was my second attempt, before this I appeared in 2018 but unfortunately, I was not able to clear pre. I would like to tell you my story of how I started, what problems I did face, and how I overcame all of this.
After completing my graduation from MITS college Gwalior with computer science. I didn’t get recruitment in any of the companies. At that time, I planned to switch from the IT sector to any government job. My roommate Yash Jain suggested to me about the banking exam because its pattern is almost like some IT company written test. The first time I did apply for SBI PO but its pre-exam date clashed with my Infosys company recruitment date. And both the exams were in different cities so being a computer science student I chose Infosys but my destiny decided something else for me, so I failed to clear this.
In the mid of September, I moved to Indore and joined a private coaching class there. I performed well in tests but I was not taking mock tests seriously during the coaching. I filled the form with IBPS PO, CLERK AND SO but didn’t touch the cut-off. During the preparation, I met some of my friends. They advised me to take mock tests daily and suggested that I analyze it and then I bought a yearly package of Oliveboard test series.
The first exam that I appeared in after attempting a regular mock test was LIC AAO. I was not able to clear this exam too but till then my performance reached the next level. Later I appeared in FCI, SBI Clerk, SBI PO, LIC ADO, RRB Clerk, RRB PO, and EPFO SSA. I did clear all of them except SBI and RRB PO. After pre, I got very little time for mains preparation and that time was not enough for the one who has not prepared earlier. So in all those mains, my performance was very bad. After all of this, I focused mainly on the mains, especially on the General awareness section and mains level test. Later I was able to clear all the pre exams of the IBPS Exam including SO(IT). I failed only in IBPS PO Mains but cleared IBPS Clerk and IBPS SO mains.
Prepare Current Affairs With Oliveboard’s Month BOLT:
Before IBPS Clerk mains, I also gave LIC Assistant mains from the Indore region but failed by a few marks. My interview for the specialist officer post went very well. They mostly asked about my field (IT Sector) and I answered them properly.
On 20th May 2020, the result was announced I got Bank of India as clerk while the corporation bank (now Union Bank of India) in SO.
Prince Jain’s Subject-wise Strategy:-
My strategy was very simple. For pre, I attempted 2 mock tests daily and analyzed them which covered my Maths and Reasoning very well.
And for the GK Section, I read daily current affairs from a single resource and used to repeat it in the evening. I also used to revise monthly PDFs so that I don’t miss anything.
For English, initially, I started reading grammar rules. Later shifted to the Hindu editorial only.
Mains is very different from pre. Here you have to be better than the best.
During mains, I used to give a test in 4 days and analyzed one section per day (Mains test is very tough, especially on Oliveboard, so doing everything in one day was not possible for me). During the mains, there were some specific mains level questions taught by Oliveboard’s teacher so I also gave time to them.
Lastly, I only want to say, in the banking exam you have to learn your failures, and instead of wasting your time searching for quality content here or there, just focus on mock tests.
Thank you Oliveboard for making my dream come true and all the best to the other aspirants.
