Maharashtra to set up Swachh Bharat World University

On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the government of Maharashtra has decided to setup Swachh Bharat World University in Wardha.

This university will focus on the research studies in Sanitation, Cleanliness, and environment.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari is recently appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra. He is from Uttarakhand state. He was associated with BJP prior to being appointed as Governor.

Delhi Police launches ‘Tatpar’ for Delhites.

Delhi police has launched a new app called ‘Tatpar’ for the people of Delhi. This application will allow users to file FIR (e-FIR) and pay challan online from mobile phones.

This application will allow users to reach out to an emergency contact number (SOS) of their choice or call a PCR by dialing number 100 with just one touch. SOS stands for ‘Save our Souls’.

The launch was announced by Mr Anil Baijal who is the current lieutenant governor of Delhi on 18 Sep 2019.

Secundrabad Railway Station Gets CII-IGBC Platinum Rating

Secundrabad railway station was recently awarded the platinum rating from CII- IGBC.

CII stands for Confederation of Indian Industries. CII works towards the setup of an environment that is in favor of the development of India.

IGBC stands for Indian Green Building Council. It is a conferred body of CII that looks after the green building certification and the related Services.

Secundrabad is the first railway station that gets platinum rating. It has reduced energy consumption and is utilizing natural resources for operations, thus helping in reducing the carbon footprint.

63rd International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Conference Held

63rd IAEA conference is being started in Vienna, Austria at the Vienna International Centre. It commenced from 16 Sep 2019 and is scheduled to end on 20 Sep 2019.

IAEA was formed in the year 1957 on 29th July. It is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Till day there are 171 states that are the member of IAEA. India is one of them.

The Indian delegation at International Atomic Energy Agency was headed by Dr. K N Vyas who is the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.

IAEA was formed with a view to understand the usage of atomic power and monitor the misuse on any part.

New Judges appointed by Supreme Court

Supreme court has appointed 4 new judges from different high courts taking the total count of SC judges to 34 which is the highest to date.

The new appointees are

  1. Himachal Pradesh High court Chief Justice V. Ramasubramaniam.
  2. Punjab and Haryana HC Chief Justice Krishna Murari.
  3. Rajasthan HC Chief Justice S. Ravindra Bhat.
  4. Kerala HC Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy.

The Parliament has approved the decision to appoint new chief justices and the total count of 34 includes our Chief Justice of India.
