UPSC Full Form – Number of Attempts for the UPSC Exam 2023
The number of attempts for UPSC exams varies depending on the category of the candidate. The details are as follows:
- General Category: A general category candidate can attempt the UPSC exam a maximum of 6 times until he/she reaches the upper age limit.
- OBC Category: An OBC category candidate can attempt the UPSC exam a maximum of 9 times until he/she reaches the upper age limit.
- SC/ST Category: There is no limit on the number of attempts for SC/ST category candidates until they reach the upper age limit.
- PwD Category: A PwD category candidate belonging to the general category can attempt the UPSC exam a maximum of 9 times until he/she reaches the upper age limit. An OBC category candidate belonging to the PwD category can attempt the UPSC exam a maximum of 9 times until he/she reaches the upper age limit. There is no limit on the number of attempts for PwD category candidates belonging to the SC/ST category until they reach the upper age limit.
