OPSC OCS Selection Process: The Odisha Public Service Commission has released the notification for the OPSC CSE 2024. The notification PDF contains the recruitment process details. The Odisha Civil Service Combined Competitive Recruitment Exam comprises three stages: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Interview or Personality Test. The prelims exam is screening stage for mains.

OPSC OCS Selection Process

As per the conducting commission, Odisha PSC CCRE 2024 will be held in three stages: Prelims, Mains and Interview. The Prelims exam is qualifying in nature. In Mains exam part 1 is qualifying and marks scored in part 2 are considered for evaluation. The marks scored in Interview is also considered for evaluation.

OPSC OCS Selection Process – Prelims

• Prelims Paper is the first stage of the OPSC OCS Selection Process.
• This exam is qualifying in nature.
• OPSC Prelims Exam consist of two papers, General Studies I and General Studies II.
• Both papers are objective types (Multiple Choice Questions).
• Each paper carry 200 marks.
• Each paper held for a time duration of 2 hours.
• Aspirants must score a minimum of 33% marks in Paper-II.
• For each incorrect answer, 0.33 marks deducts as penalty.

OPSC OCS Selection Process – Mains

• The mains exam is the second stage of the Odisha Combined Competitive Recruitment process 2024.
• OPSC Mains comprises 11 papers. Out of these 11 papers, 5 papers are compulsory, 4 are optional, one essay paper and one Odia language paper.
• For the 4 optional papers, the candidates are required to choose 2 subjects from the list of subjects provided by the exam conducting authorities.
• Candidates who score 25% minimum marks in Part 1, Odia and English language, they qualify for part 2.
• The Mains exam carries 2000 marks for evaluation.

The syllabus for Mains optional subjects are at Honours level, which means they require a higher level of knowledge than a bachelor’s degree but are not as extensive as a Master’s degree.

OPSC OCS Selection Process – Interview

The third and last stage of the Odisha PSC OAS recruitment process is the Interview or Personality skill process. The candidates who successfully crack the Mains Exam stage, shall be invited for the Interview round. In the Interview round, candidates are evaluated on the basis of the Thought clarity, Logical Exposition, Mental Alertness, Depth of interest, Leadership qualities, Capacity to work under pressure, General knowledge, Body language, Personality types and Communication skills etc. Candidates clearing this personality skill round, shall receive the final call letter. The OPSC OCS Interview round carries 250 marks and marks scored in the mains exam Part 2 and Interview round are considered for preparing the merit list.

OPSC Selection Process: Cut Off

The Civil Service exam for Odisha PSC 2024 is scheduled to be held in upcoming month. Candidate who clear the prelims, are qualified for Mains and who meet the mains cut off, are called for interview or personality skill round.
