Step 1: Go to the official website of SEBI.
Step 2: Click on “Careers”. Now you will find “SEBI Recruitment Exercise – Recruitment of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) 2025 – Legal Stream”, Click on it.
Step 3: Now, Click on “Online Application Link”.
Step 4: Register yourself with IBPS or if you are already registered then enter the Registration Number, Password & Security Code.
Step 5: Fill out the application form, Pay the application fee, and upload all necessary documents.
Step 6: Finally verify the details and click on final submit.

SEBI Law Officer Eligibility – Educational Qualification
Below we have mentioned both the mandatory educational qualification and desirable experience:
Mandatory Educational Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University / Institute.
Desirable Experience – Two years post qualification experience as an Advocate (including as an associate in an Advocate’s or Solicitor’s Office or Law firm) after being enrolled under the
Advocates Act, 1961 (25 of 1961) shall be a desirable qualification.

SEBI Law Officer Eligibility – Age Limit
A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as of the reference date which is usually the last date of the month in which the notification is released. It is expected that the candidate must have been born on or after April 01, 1995.

SEBI Grade A Legal Officer Exam Pattern 2025

SEBI Law Officer Phase 1 Exam Pattern
Check out the important pointers below before moving to the detailed exam pattern:
- There shall be negative marking (1/4th of marks assigned to the question) for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase I.
- For Paper 1, the cut off is 30% and for Paper 2, the cut off is 40%. The aggregate cut off for both papers is 40%.
- The maximum marks for both papers is 100 marks each.
- The duration of paper 1 is 60 minutes whereas the duration of paper 2 is 40 minutes.

SEBI Legal Officer Phase 2 Exam Pattern
Check out the important pointers below before moving to the detailed exam pattern:
- There shall be negative marking (1/4th of marks assigned to the question) for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of Paper 2 in Phase II.
- For Paper 1, the cut off is 30% and for Paper 2, the cut off is 40%. The aggregate cut off for both papers is 50%.
- The maximum marks for both papers is 100 marks each.
- The duration of paper 1 is 60 minutes whereas the duration of paper 2 is 120 minutes. For paper 2 MCQ part, you will get 60 minutes and for descriptive part, you will get 60 minutes.
- The weightage of Paper 1 is 1/3rd whereas the weightage of Paper 2 is 2/3rd.

SEBI Legal Officer Salary 2025
The SEBI Grade A officers have a pay scale of ₹62,500 – 3,600 (4) – 76,900 – 4,050 (7) – 1,05,250 – EB – 4,050 (4) – 1,21,450 – 4,650 (1) – 1,26,100 over 17 years. At the minimum of this scale in Mumbai, the gross monthly salary including SEBI’s contribution to NPS and allowances is approximately ₹1,84,000 without accommodation and ₹1,43,000 with accommodation.
