Inspiring Success Story of Saurav Dey

I hail from Shillong, Meghalaya. Later I went to pursue B. Tech from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. I have previously worked as an IT Professional in Accenture Solutions Private Limited for 2.5 years in Bengaluru.

I have cleared my SBI Junior Associate 2020 examination from Meghalaya and I will be joining SBI soon as a Junior Associate.

Ever since I left my job in 2017 to pursue a career in the Banking sector I have been preparing to crack the required examinations. In 2018, I wasn’t at all prepared and gave the examinations in haste and hence performed poorly. 

From 2019 onwards, I was able to clear the Prelims but was unable to clear the Mains as I didn’t have enough preparation. In 2020, I changed my strategy and focussed on my strong points which were English and Reasoning mainly but I also gave time to Aptitude and General Awareness.

Saurav Dey Subject-Wise Strategy

Quant- For Aptitude, I referred to some YouTube videos which showed short tricks to solve problems in seconds as time is of the essence and practiced each chapter properly. In order to be prepared for DI and Caselets, one must know the basics properly as they boost scores in the tests.

English – For English, I felt I had a good base, so I directly performed in the mock tests to improve my accuracy. This subject if done properly is a huge scorer.

Reasoning – For Logical Reasoning, I practiced each topic properly but I mostly focussed on solving Puzzles because they are a time killer. Solving each topic is a necessity before proceeding to the mock tests.

General Awareness – For GK/GA, YouTube is a good source as it has tons of Current Affairs and Banking Awareness videos with good content. Follow any source religiously as it helps you a lot especially in the Mains to boost scores. I would also suggest avoiding reading only the headlines and to read and revise every news properly inside and out at least 3-4 times before the exams.
