TNPSC Group 4 Salary

The salary pay band for the post of Stenographer is Rs. 20,500 – Rs. 65000.00 and for all the remaining posts the salary pay band is Rs. 19500.00 – Rs. 62000.00.

  • In hand salary for the post of Village Administrative Officer will fall between Rs.18,000.00 and Rs.19,000.00.  The difference in compensation arises based on the area where the officer is posted. 
  • Selected candidates become eligible for various allowances, such as HRA (House Rent Allowance) and (DA) Dearness Allowance.
  • Dearness Allowance or DA comprises – 5% of the Officer’s Basic pay.  This is revised on a six-monthly basis i.e. twice each year.
  • House Rent Allowance or HRA is provided based on the city of posting.
  • City Allowance also varies from posting to posing.  Cities that are more expensive to live in will have a higher city allowance compared to less expensive cities.

Junior Assistant

The post of Junior Assistant exists in two departments:  the Judicial department and the Ministerial Service. This post is supposed to assist the judges and secretaries and work under them. The key duty of a Junior Assistant is to provide assistance in the day-to-day clerical tasks. For the first promotion, the Junior Assistants have to serve six years at this post to become eligible for applying for promotion via department tests.

Typist And Steno Typist

The post of steno-typist is generally associated with higher officers and works as their personal assistant. In the judicial services, they function in the capacity of court clerks with the responsibility of drafting the court orders and other dictations by the Judges. The work of the Typist generally comes after that of Stenographers. Typists need to draft the orders of the court, compile the minutes of various meetings, and all other types of clerical data into the system servers. It is their responsibility to keep all the servers of the department updated with all records and information at all times.
