Qantas Dreamliner completes longest ever Commercial Flight

Qantas Airlines completed a 19-hour long journey from New York to Sydney in one go, nonstop.

The flight was a part of Project Sunrise – Qantas’ goal to operate regular non-stop commercial flights from Australia’s east coast cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to London and New York.

The Flight covered 16,200 Kms.

Qantas is an Australian Airliner and is the largest airliner by fleet size.

Joko Widodo elected as the President for the 2nd Term

Indonesia’s popular president Joko Widodo has been elected as the President for the 2nd term.

Widodo laid out the ambitious targets to help Indonesia join the ranks of the World’s developed Nations by the time it marks a century of independence in 2045.

Target – $7 Trillion by 2045

Capital of Indonesia – Jakarta

Currency of Indonesia – Indonesian Rupiah

India has set out a target of $5 trillion by 2024.

Green Call, CII adopts 100 village

Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) in its statement on Monday said, ‘To curb the alarming pollution level across north India, especially during winters, it has adopted over 100 villages and 100,000 acres of farm area in Punjab and Haryana to enable zero crop residue burning.

CII is proactively engaging with over 15000 farmers to provide farm machinery, organize technical trainings and massive awareness drives in the adopted village of Haryana and Punjab.

UP to launch single helpline number for all Emergency Services

Post 26 October all emergency numbers like 100 for police, 101 for fire and 1090 women helpline will be integrated into a single Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).

The Emergency helpline number would be 112

22 states and territories have so far joined the ERSS network. After adoption by all states, 112 will be a single emergency response system for the whole country.

Sri Lanka removed from FATF’s Grey List

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is an inter-governmental body established in 1989 to combat money-laundering, terrorist financing and other related threats to the integrity of the International Financial System.

The island nation will no longer be subject to FATF monitoring under its ongoing anti-money laundering and countering the financing of the terrorism compliance process.

FATF warned Pakistan of getting blacklisted if it does not control Terror Funding by February next year.
