Amit Shah to inaugurate SCO joint exercise on Search, Rescue

Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate SCO Joint Exercise on Search, Rescue. The mission is termed SCOJtEx-2019 (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search and Rescue)

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will be hosting the event. The event will be based out of New Delhi.

All the 8 member countries in the SCO will be participating in the event. Member countries of SCO are China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

UNESCO designated Mumbai as a member of UCCN

UNESCO has designated Mumbai as a member of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of FILM and Hyderabad in the field of Gastronomy.

UCCN, created in 2004, is a network of cities that are thriving, active centers of cultural activities in their respective countries.

There are 7 categories for recognition under UCCN, namely Crafts and Folk Arts, Design, Film, Gastronomy, Music, Media Arts, and Literature.

Punjab Cabinet passes unanimous resolution to institute Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Award

The Award is instituted on the occasion of commemoration of 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Award would carry a citation and a cash prize of 11 lakh rupees.

The Award is instituted for the promotion of Peace and Interfaith Understanding.

Award would be given each year and would be adjudicated by a jury to be notified by the State Government.

Coal India to produce 1 billion tonne of coal by 2024

Coal India Limited (CIL) will produce 750 million tonnes of coal by the financial year 2020-21. CIL is further planning to produce 1 billion tonnes of coal in the FY 2023-24.

The CIL is currently given the target of producing 660 million tonnes of coal amounting to 82% of the country’s coal output.
