India to set up First e-waste clinic

In its initiative towards Clean India, Government is going to set up an e-waste clinic. This clinic is set to open up in Bhopal district in Madhya Pradesh.

Electronic waste will be collected from people door to door or people can also directly deposit the waste in the clinic directly.

This initiative will help the government segregate the waste and process for its disposal. It would include the waste from household as well as the commercial units.

Tripura gets its First-ever Special Economic Zone

This proposal involves an estimated investment of 1550 Cr. INR and will generate an estimated employment of about 12000 individuals.

Setting up a Special Economic Zone which will be Agro-based will be at Pashchim Jalefa, Sabroom, South Tripura.

Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) will be responsible to develop the SEZ at an estimated project cost of 147 cr INR.

India and Bangladesh Signs MoU

India has signed an MoU with Bangladesh to set up a Coastal Surveillance Radar System in Bangladesh. A total of 7 agreements were signed in the New Delhi.

The agreements were signed during an official talk between PM of India Narendra Modi and PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

One of the projects also includes the import of LPG from Bangladesh for the distribution in North-Eastern states.

RBI release Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Rates for 2019-20

RBI reduces the policy repo rate under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) by 25 basis points.

Rates from 03 Oct 2019:

Repo Rate – 5.15%

Reverse Repo Rate – 4.9%

Bank Rate – 5.4%

CRR – 4%

SLR – 18.75%

MSF – 5.4%

Monetary Policy Committee was consisting of 6 members which was headed by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.

MPC comprised of Dr. Ravindra H. Dholakia, Dr. Michael Patra, Shri BP Kanungo, Dr. Chetan Ghate, and Dr. Pami Dua.

Goa Maritime Conclave 2019 held

Goa Maritime Conclave 2019 is being conducted in Goa. It was inaugurated by Sri Ajit Doval our National Security Advisor on 4 Oct 2019.

Theme for the Conclave is – Common Maritime Priorities in the Indian Ocean Rim Association and need for Regional Maritime Strategy.
