Portal Streamlines Registration for CBG and Biogas Plants

The Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation has launched a Unified Registration Portal for GOBARdhan to simplify the registration of Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) and biogas plants nationwide. Over 1163 biogas plants and 426 CBG plants have already registered, making them eligible for support under the Market Development Assistance (MDA) scheme. This scheme, initiated by the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, offers a subsidy of Rs. 1500 per metric ton for organic fertilizers produced at these plants.

The MDA scheme, with a substantial budget spanning three years, aims to promote the production and adoption of organic fertilizers generated from GOBARdhan plants, reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers and urea. Additionally, it invigorates the CBG/Biogas sector, making it attractive for private investments and fostering sustainable agricultural practices. Over 10,000 Claims Accepted Under Vivad se Vishwas – I Scheme

Indian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have received a much-needed lifeline as numerous government Ministries and Departments have approved more than 10,000 claims under the Vivad se Vishwas – I scheme. Designed to aid MSMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative has resulted in grants exceeding Rs. 256 crore being disbursed to MSMEs. It has also eased access to additional bank credit by releasing guarantees. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has led the way, granting the highest relief of Rs. 116.47 crore, covering settled claims and payments made by agencies under its administrative control.

The Vivad se Vishwas I – Relief for MSMEs scheme, introduced by the Union Finance Minister during the Budget Speech for 2023-24, has provided a critical lifeline for the pandemic-stricken MSMEs. The scheme, launched by the Ministry of Finance via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, has enabled MSMEs to submit claims for relief until July 31, 2023. GeM’s dedicated portal streamlined the process. Under the scheme, MSMEs have received relief, including a 95% refund of performance security, bid security, and liquidated damages. Additionally, MSMEs facing debarment due to contract execution issues have been granted reprieve.
