Who was Sir M Visvesvaraya
Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (15 September 1861 – 12 April 1962), also referred to by his initials, MV, was an Indian civil engineer, administrator, and statesman. He served as the 19th Diwan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918. He was also a prolific inventor, with over 30 patents to his name.

Visvesvaraya was born in Muddenahalli, Karnataka. He studied civil engineering at the College of Science in Pune, and after graduating, he worked in various government departments. He also played a key role in the establishment of the Bangalore Engineering College, which was later renamed the Visvesvaraya Technological University in his honor.
