PM Modi to Flag off 9 Vande Bharat Express Trains on 24th September

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to launch 9 new Vande Bharat Express trains on September 24, 2023, at 12:30 PM through a video conference. These newly introduced Vande Bharat trains represent a significant stride toward realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of enhancing connectivity across India and offering top-notch amenities to railway passengers. This initiative aims to enhance the travel experience and accessibility for passengers across the country.

  3. Hyderabad –Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
  4. Vijayawada – Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express
  5. Patna – Howrah Vande Bharat Express
  6. Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express
  7. Rourkela – Bhubaneswar – Puri  Vande Bharat Express
  8. Ranchi – Howrah  Vande Bharat Express
  9. Jamnagar-Ahmedabad  Vande Bharat Express

These nine trains will boost connectivity across eleven states namely Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat.

Fastest Trains – Reducing Travel Time

The introduction of these Vande Bharat Express trains will significantly reduce travel time for passengers along their respective routes.

  • Compared to the current fastest trains operating on these routes, the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express and Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express will be faster by approximately 3 hours.
  • The Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will reduce travel time by more than 2.5 hours, while the Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express will cut travel time by over 2 hours.
  • The Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express will all save passengers about 1 hour of travel time, and the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express will reduce travel time by approximately half an hour.
  • These improvements in travel time will enhance passenger convenience and efficiency.

Enhancing Connectivity

The introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to enhance connectivity to important religious destinations across India.

  • The Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express will connect the religious town of Puri.
  • While the Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express will connect the religious town of Madurai.
  • Additionally, the Vijayawada-Chennai Vande Bharat Express will operate via the Renigunta route, providing connectivity to the Tirupati Pilgrimage Center.
