The Booker Prize Award 2019

The Bookers Prize Award 2019 was given to authors for their phenomenal contributions. Check the names here:

Margaret Atwood and Bernardine Evaristo joint winners of Bookers Prize Award.

Margaret Atwood is a Canadian author and has won the award for The Testaments. Anglo- Nigerian author Bernardine Evaristo for Girl, Women, Other.

In 2018 the award was given to Anna Burns for Milkman. First Bookers prize award was given in 1969 to P.H. Newby for Something To Answer For.

Award money of 50,000 Pounds is given along with the award.

RBI raises the withdrawal limit for the customers of PMC Bank

RBI has increased the withdrawal limit to 40,000 INR for the customers of Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank from 25,000 INR.

The withdrawal limit is increased by RBI, 3rd time in last 1 month.

With the revised relaxation, about 77% of the Bank depositors will be able to withdraw their entire deposits.

Kais Saied elected as New President of Tunisia

Kais Saied is an Independent Law professor by profession. He defeated Nabil karoui, his rival to win the presidential elections.

He won the election with 73% of the total votes. The elections were conducted midway because of the death of former President Beji Caid Essebsi in July 2019.

India and Netherlands launches 2nd phase of LOTUS-HR

LOTUS-HR stands for Local Treatment of Urban Sewage Streams for Healthy Reuseplant.

LOTUS-HR was launched during the India visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the kingdom of the Netherlands.

The first phase of the project was initiated in July 2017. The aim of the mission is to ‘Encourage a Sustainable Business Model is to convert sewage water to clean water for healthy reuse.

10,000-liter sewage water will be treated per day under this mission. The mission is jointly supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology and Netherland Organisation for Scientific Research.

Andhra launches ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme for Farmers

YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme is launched under PM Kisan Scheme. It is launched by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Under the scheme, farmers will get Financial assistance of 13,500 INR per annum in 3 installments, with state government contributing 7500, and the center will contribute 6000 INR.

State government allocated a budget of 5500 crores for the scheme.
