The SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern consists of 100 objective-type questions for 200 marks. The major change in 2026 is the introduction of a 15-minute sectional timer for each subject within the overall 60-minute duration.

The SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam 2026 is conducted in two sessions on the same day. Session I includes Section I, Section II and Section III, while Session II consists of the Skill Test/Typing Test. A major change in 2026 is the introduction of separate sectional timers within Tier 2.

The 2026 notification introduces strict subject-wise timers:

Candidates cannot freely distribute time across the subjects because each section closes automatically after the prescribed duration.
2. Post-Specific Skill & Typing Tests
Candidates had to appear for the skill test or typing test in Tier 2 of the examination. The Skill Test/Typing Test is conducted in Session II and is qualifying in nature.

Candidates choosing Hindi for the LDC/JSA Typing Test must type using Mangal Font only. Use of any other font can result in non-qualification in the Typing/Skill Test.
