The IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2026 has been revised by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). While the overall selection process remains the same, the Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The Mains exam pattern has undergone important changes, including an increase in the number of questions and a revised distribution of sections. The exam continues to test candidates on reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, English language, banking awareness, and decision-making skills.   • The objective paper now contains 170 questions instead of 145.
  • The distribution of questions and marks across sections has been revised.
  • The Banking Awareness section now includes General, Economy, Banking, Digital & Financial Awareness along with RBI circulars.
  • The English objective section has been restructured.

What is the Revised IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern?

 

The IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2026 has been significantly revised. Unlike previous years, the objective examination now consists of 170 questions carrying 200 marks, followed by a descriptive English test of 25 marks.

What is the IBPS PO Personality Test?

 

One of the biggest additions to the recruitment process is the personality test. Candidates qualifying the Mains examination must appear for a mandatory personality test before the interview. Although qualifying in nature, candidates must appear for it to become eligible for the interview.

  • Mandatory for all shortlisted candidates.
  • Qualifying in nature.
  • No marks are added to the final merit list.
  • A personality profile is shared with the interview panel.
