IBPS RRB PO Exam Pattern 2025


The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale-I, II, and III) Exam annually to recruit officers in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India. The selection process for Officer Scale-I consists of Preliminary and Mains examinations, followed by an Interview. However, candidates applying for Officer Scale-II and III appear directly for a Single Exam and an Interview.

The IBPS RRB PO Exam is conducted in an online, objective-type format, and candidates must qualify for both sectional and overall cut-offs to move to the next stage. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

IBPS RRB PO Selection Process


Candidates who clear all required stages are shortlisted in the final merit list, based on Mains/Single Exam marks and Interview performance. The IBPS RRB PO selection process varies depending on the officer scale:

Officer Scale-I (PO):

  • Prelims Exam (Qualifying Stage)
  • Mains Exam (Final Selection for Interview)
  • Interview Round

Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer and Specialist Cadre) & Officer Scale-III:

  • Single Exam (Final Selection for Interview)
  • Interview Round


IBPS RRB PO Prelims Exam Pattern Officer Scale-I
 

  • The IBPS RRB PO Prelims Exam is the first stage of selection for Officer Scale-I.
  • It consists of two sections, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, with a total of 80 questions to be completed within 45 minutes.
  • This exam is qualifying in nature, and candidates must meet the sectional and overall cut-off to be eligible for the Mains Exam.

  • The Officer Scale-II (Specialist Cadre) Single Exam consists of six sections, including a Professional Knowledge section relevant to the specialist role.
  • The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the final selection is based on the Single Exam and Interview performance.
