CTET Selection Process: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to recruit eligible candidates as teachers for primary and upper primary classes in various government and private schools across the country. The CTET examination consists of two papers – Paper-I and Paper-II. Written Examination
The CTET written examination consists of two papers – Paper-I and Paper-II. Both the papers are conducted in offline mode and are objective in nature. Each paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with a total of 150 marks. The duration of each paper is two-and-a-half hours.
Paper-I: The questions in Paper-I are based on Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (compulsory), Language II (compulsory), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
Paper-II: The questions in Paper-II are based on Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (compulsory), Language II (compulsory), Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teachers) or Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teachers).
Candidates are required to score a minimum of 60% marks (55% for reserved category candidates) in the written examination to qualify for the next stage of the selection process.
Document Verification Process
Candidates who qualify in the CTET written examination are required to produce their original documents for verification. The following documents are required to be produced:
- CTET Admit Card
- CTET Scorecard
- Class 10th and 12th Mark Sheets
- Graduation Degree (if applicable)
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
Candidates who fail to produce any of the required documents will not be considered for the final selection process.
