Online Application Filling For The JK Police SI Exam

Soon the process for online application for Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub Inspector will be opened.  All of the applicants will need to apply online for the vacancies of SI Jammu and Kashmir Police both Female and Male SI by logging on to their official website by using the online application form. 

Before applying online, it is essential to go through the recruitment notification thoroughly and understand all aspects and all requirements.  You must check out that you fully qualify for the post before filling out the form.   For example, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply for the post.  Also, this post is a JKSSB Graduate Level Post and only those who are graduates or hold an equivalent qualification can apply for it. Selection Process

There are 4 stages in the process of selection.  A candidate has to qualify in each stage to become eligible for selection. The four stages in the process of selection are:

  1. Physical Endurance Test (PET)
  2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  3. Written Examination
  4. Viva-voce/personality Assessment test
  • In the Physical Endurance Test, the physical ability and performance on various tests, such as running, are tested for the candidate.
  • In the Physical Measurement Test, the height, weight, etc., of the candidate is checked against a minimum criteria.
  • The Written Examination tests logic, general knowledge, mathematical ability, etc.
  • In the Viva Voce, the communication skill, confidence, attitude, etc., of the candidates are tested.

Examination Pattern

There is a pre-decided pattern and a minimum requirement for each of the four stages in the selection process.  While the physical endurance test and the Physical Measurement Test, are different for Males and Females, they are the same for Males and Females in the Written Test and Viva Voce.

The Pattern Of The Written Examination

The Written Examination pattern for the Jammu and Kashmir Police SI selection process is as given below. 

  • The Written Examination is an objective type exam
  • The Examination has multiple choice questions
  • The Maximum Marks for the written Examination are 85 marks
  • For the Sub Inspector (Executive/ Armed) the Written Examination will comprise 120 Questions.
  • For the Sub Inspector (Telecommunication Wing) the Written Examination will comprise 100 Questions.

Admit Card

The Admit Card for the examination will be issued to all those applicants whose application has been found to be in order after scrutiny.  The Admit Card will be available online and will have to be printed by the candidates and a hard copy carried to the Examination Venue and Examination Hall on the day of the Examination.  The admit card will generally be available on the official website of the Examination board about 10 to 15 days prior to the Examination date.  It is good to download a copy of the Admit Card and keep it safe for future use.

When the Admit Card becomes available for candidates to print, the candidates must check that all the information provided in the Admit Card is exactly the same as the information provided in the application form that they have filled.  The details on the Admit Card that must be checked are:

  4. Address of the candidate
  5. Candidate’s Registration Number

In case any of the information provided in the Admit card is different from what had been given in the application form, it is important to have it corrected.  Reach out to the helpline number or the e-mail ID provided for problem resolution.   The error will be resolved and a fresh admit card will be issued. On the day of the examination, several other documents need to be carried to the Examination Venue.  

Candidates need to carry the originals of the documents mentioned below (as well as the Admit Card) as ID Proof for verification. Failing to produce an ID Proof in original at the examination centre the candidate will not be allowed to sit for the examination. any two of the following documents can be carried for verification and ID proof:

There are four stages of tests in the selection process for the JK Police Sub Inspector. The number of vacancies declared for the post is 690+.
