The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has released the LIC AAO Notification 2025 with 350 vacancies for AAO (Generalist) and 410 vacancies for AAO (Specialist). LIC AAO Job Profile 2025

The Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in LIC is primarily an administrative role with varied responsibilities depending on the department of posting. AAOs work under administrative officers and play a key role in smooth departmental functioning. LIC AAOs are posted in multiple departments, such as:

LIC AAO Responsibilities

The responsibilities of an LIC AAO include:

  • Assisting the administrative officer or departmental head in supervising day-to-day operations.
  • Inspecting and analyzing ongoing insurance policies.
  • Designing and planning new schemes or policies.
  • Processing policy applications and maintaining customer databases.
  • Interacting with customers, sales staff, vendors, and agents for smooth functioning.
  • Handling claim processing (filing, verification, and settlement).
  • Coordinating with different departments and resolving client queries.
  • Performing administrative duties as assigned by superiors.
  • Occasionally handling underwriting tasks.
  • Negotiating with agents and development officers.

Probation Period of LIC AAO

A candidate appointed as an AAO will be on probation for 1 year, which may be extended up to 2 years. During probation, candidates undergo continuous assessment. If the required standards are not met, services may be terminated as per LIC policy.

Guarantee Bond for LIC AAO

Before joining, candidates must sign a Guarantee Bond agreeing to serve LIC for at least 4 years (including probation). If the candidate leaves before this period, a penalty of ₹5,00,000 + GST will be payable. A Deed of Indemnity must be submitted, duly stamped and notarized, at the candidate’s cost.

LIC AAO Salary 2025

LIC AAOs receive a basic pay of ₹88,635 per month under the pay scale ₹88,635 – 1,69,025, along with HRA, CCA, and other allowances. The gross salary is approx. ₹1,26,000/month in a metro city. Additional benefits include:
