1. Promotion to Section Officer (4800): To get promoted after 5-7 years, it is necessary to pass the inter-department exam, or else the promotion takes place after 10-12 years.
2. Promotion from Section Officer to Section Officer (5400): It requires around 4 years to get promoted to 5400-grade pay Section Officer.
3. For Promotion from Section Officer (5400) to Under Secretary, it requires four to six years.
