Success Story of Gaurav Tripathi – Cleared NIACL Assistant , NIACL AO, IBPS Clerk

Read the Success Story of Gaurav Tripathi, who left his job in order to achieve his dreams by going against all odds, and went on to clear major exams like NIACL Assistant, NIACL AO, IBPS CLERK & CANARA BANK PO.

Here is his inspiring story:

Hello all, I am Gaurav Tripathi. I am a Civil Engineering Graduate having completed it in 2014 after which I worked in Accenture for 3.5 years and quit last year in July to finally prepare for Public Sector Examinations with full dedication. Leaving a well settled job raised a few eyebrows at that time but I always had the confidence that I will eventually get selected. So I started preparing just after I returned to my hometown Allahabad.

First, I cleared BOB PGDBF written but was out in Final List. Then appeared for RRB PO and Clerk exams but it ended in failure..Then I cleared NIACL Assistant written Exam but was not selected in the final List but eventually got selected in 2nd Waiting List in May. I also cleared IBPS Clerk exam and was allotted Punjab and Sind Bank. I was selected in Canara Bank PGDBF exam but I have decided to finally join NIACL as an Administrative Officer.

Here is my strategy for all the sections:

Quant – This was probably my weakest section. I was not very bad but knew that I needed to improve a lot. So, I would like to tell that if we clear our concepts in the beginning, it goes a long way in the journey to get a job. I cleared concepts with the help of youtube and practiced a lot from various websites posting daily questions. Prelims exams need speed for which we need to use our mind calculations for attempting maximum questions in Quants and for Mains, we require strong concepts.

Reasoning – It requires Practice especially puzzles. So attempted a lot of puzzles due to which my speed increased which is needed in Prelims Exams. Also there is no need to practice tough puzzles right from the beginning as it won’t help. Miscellaneous questions also need to be practiced so as to maximise attempts. Moreover mock tests helped a great deal to master the reasoning section.

Current Affairs –  This is the make or break section. This is the section, which will decide your selection. And wild guesses in exams are a strict no……so leave no stone unturned in this section.

English – I gave the least amount of time for English as I had a good command over it right from my school days. But Quizzes do help a lot so keep practicing as much as you can.

For Interview – For this, we need to have confidence and having eye contact with the panel also helps a lot. We need to cover our academic background related questions and also avoid being nervous during the interview.

Role of Oliveboard:

I followed the IBPS Clerk Cracker Series by Oliveboard as the concepts of Maths and Reasoning were explained in a great way which made me more confident while attempting questions in both Prelims and Mains Exam.

Tips to Aspirants:

As far as Tips are concerned, I would like to say that everyone needs to have a strategy of their own, and also should be flexible while studying and focus should always be there irrespective of the failures along the way. Stay motivated and confident. Utilize your time properly and practice as much as you can. Lastly, we should always believe that we can do it and be patient as well.

I hope my journey will help other aspirants in their preparation. All the Best Guys!
