Inspiring Success Story of Rahul Mandal

I belong to Bankura, West Bengal. I am a working aspirant. I cleared the exam in my first attempt.

Attempt a Free Mock Test

Brief Description

I started my preparation in September. I was a bit afraid about whether to fill out the application form for SBI PO or not as I had the assumption that it’s next to impossible to crack this in one go preparing only for two months. So, when I filled this in, I took it as a practice place for IBPS PO, IBPS SO or next year’s SBI PO may be. At the pre, I take it like a grand mock test where other aspirants are also participating. Just figure out if there were any mistakes (strategically) otherwise forget about the exam.

Preparation for Mains

When the results came, again I was in a dilemma whether to prepare for mains or not. I practiced pre-level mains and reasoning till IBPS SO (26th December). Then I started reading GA, I used to follow GA earlier also but not that deep. I studied GA for the next 6 days and again gave the mains just like a mock for IBPS PO mains. I didn’t panic and tried to solve as much as I could.

Interview Preparation Journey

The result came and this time I felt the urgency to do great in the Interview. After giving IBPS PO & SO mains, I had 12 days to prepare for the Interview. I tried to know everything about banking, my field of study, and my hobby and was feeling anxious as it was not possible to know all. Then I gave up on 10th Feb. I took a break for a day and the day of the interview came. I didn’t get any banking related questions. Most of the questions were situations based on my current work profile. I tried to put myself in the situation and tried to answer and here I am getting 58.16 out of 100 and my first preference is Kolkata circle.

Preparation Strategy

I just studied the basics of math completely and I used to work as a math content creator for GMAT and NMAT in my college days so I was a bit familiar with the topics though I didn’t have practice. For me, Reasoning was the toughest. I followed various YouTube videos to learn the basics and then I solely focused on giving mocks. I used to study a lot of sports articles or any interesting news on the internet that helps me with my English. The strategy for pre is to have a good speed and for mains just be calm, be ready for any kind of question, don’t panic. That’s it.

Role of Oliveboard

I appeared for all the free mocks available and also purchased one mock and It was a confidence booster. I used to get free eBooks from Oliveboard just before the exams. That helped me a lot and the eBook for the interview also helped me.
